Greenhill Manor Residents' Association

Formed to preserve the residential nature of the area

What do we do

Here’s what we actually do. We keep an eye on Greenhill Manor and do our best to make it a pleasant and safe place to live. That means working with residents, local councillors, and neighbourhood police. We look over planning applications, report fly-tipping, and pick up litter to help keep our streets and the Belmont Trail Link clean. Some of us even sit on committees for other groups with similar goals. And yes, we write, prep, and print the newsletter, organise the AGM, and take care of this website—building it, updating it, you name it. Once a year, we visit everyone for a chat and to collect subscriptions. Our secretary keeps track of committee meetings, and the treasurer manages the money.

A group

To give your neighbourhood a greater voice than you would have as an individual

  • To create a better sense of community and belonging in your area

  • To keep residents informed of what’s happening in your neighbourhood

  • To campaign for something positive, for example, better and safer pavements

  • To campaign against something or get services improved

What is the purpose
of a Residents' Association?

Litter picking

You may see one of our team on your road. We began clearing litter during covid when the amount was getting too much for our eyes and senses. We are associated with Harrow Litter Pickers and have a team of four. The dream is for each of our roads to have its own litter-picker - not a huge dream, you might think, but after 4 years, volunteers have yet to step forward. Are there three residents out there who would offer some help? Equipment and bags provided. Let's be a community working together cohesively.

Committee meetings

The Committee meet every 2 months. Meetings last about 90 minutes, from 7.30 pm, depending on the amount of business to discuss.

Meetings take place at the homes of committee members, often in a garden during the warmer months, and on Zoom at other times.

We have two representatives who sit on the Safer Neighbourhood Panel, at which the Police, councillors and other bodies attend. We also have a representative on the Northwick Surgery Patient Panel.

Whilst councillors represent Greenhill Manor at council meetings, that doesn’t mean the council acts on their requests or points they raise. It can sometimes be quite a while before we get a result if, indeed, we do. Of course, the council has more to concern itself with than Greenhill Manor. There are significant issues in other parts of the borough at all levels. So, patience comes in handy.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM is held in May. All members are welcome. After business, there is a break for tea, coffee and biscuits, which is then followed by a guest speaker.
